TELEHEALTH

Your doctor is offering phone consultations for patients by appointment in select cirrcumstances.

What are the advantages of telephone consultations?

  1. Help reduce the risk of community transmission of COVID-19

  2. Provide protection for patients and health care providers

How do I book a telehealth consultation?

You will be offered a telehealth consult with your doctor at the time of booking.

Where can the consultation be provided?

You can participate in a telephone consultation from anywhere, including your home. Please ensure that you are in a quiet place to minimise disturbance during the consultation.

You may choose to have the consultation whilst sitting in the carpark of Diamond Valley Clinic. This may be useful in the instance that your GP would like to examine you either in your car on in the clinic if deemed safe and appropriate by your GP.

What happens at the telehealth consultation?

If you booked a telephone consultation with your doctor, your GP will ring you on your mobile phone as close as possible to your appointment time. Please ensure you are available to take the call.

At the start of a telephone consultation, your GP will introduce him/herself and ask some identifying questions such as your name, address, and date of birth to make sure the right patient is present and the correct health record has been opened by your GP. Your GP will speak with you and ask you questions in the same way as they would at a face-to-face consultation.

Can I still have a face-to-face appointment with my doctor?

Yes! Some issues can’t be solved over the phone. In this case, your doctor will arrange for you to have a face-to-face appointment.
